Available Formats
| Format | Description | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| Abacus | Abacus-compatible format | Import into Abacus |
| ASR | Audit Standard Report | For auditors |
| CSV | Table format | Excel, further analysis |
Creating an Export
- Go to Accounting > Export
- Select:
- Export format
- Time period
- Data to export (journal, accounts, etc.)
- Click Export
- Download the file
Abacus Export
The Abacus export contains:
- Journal entries in Abacus format
- Chart of accounts mapping
- VAT codes
ASR Export
The ASR export (Audit Standard Report) is a standardized format for audits and contains:
- Complete booking history
- Account balances
- Audit trail
Compliance Dossier
The compliance dossier is exported under Settings > Compliance and complements accounting reports with technical evidence:
- compliance events with sequence, previous hash, and current hash
- document artifacts with SHA-256 checksums
- manifest with export period and its own manifest checksum
Use this export for internal controls, fiduciary requests, or audit preparation. A legally certified immutable archive still requires an appropriate external archiving or timestamping solution.
Import
Importing Bookings

- Upload the file
- Review the preview

AI Cashflow Forecast
Under Reports > Cashflow Forecast you'll find AI-powered liquidity planning.
Features
- Forecast Period: 30 to 180 days into the future
- Confidence Band: Visualizes forecast uncertainty
- Liquidity Warning: Automatic alert for potential shortfalls
- CSV Export: Export data for further processing
Dashboard Widget
A compact widget shows the 30-day preview directly on the dashboard:
- Expected income
- Expected expenses
- Forecasted balance
Data Sources
The forecast is based on:
- Open invoices (expected inflows)
- Pending vendor bills (expected outflows)
- Historical payment patterns
- Seasonal trends
Dashboard Reports
On the dashboard (for administrators) you see:
- Cashflow Chart: Income vs. expenses per month
- Pending Invoices: Donut chart by status
- Pending Vendor Bills: Liabilities overview
- Quick Actions: Create invoice, quote, expense
- Recent Activity: Timeline of recent bookings
- Getting Started Checklist: Introduction for new users (dismissible)
- Top Customers Widget: Top 5 clients by revenue with health indicators
- VAT Liability: Expected payment to the FTA for the current VAT period
Period switcher
At the top of the dashboard you choose the period: This month, Last 3 months, This year or All time.
Every tile and every chart states in its heading which timeframe it covers. There are exactly three kinds:
| Kind | Marking | Widgets |
|---|---|---|
| Follows the period | the selected period, e.g. "This year" | Revenue, costs & operations, invoice status, costs by category, top vendors, invoice lifecycle, recent invoices, recent expenses, recent activity, receivables risk |
| As of today | "As of today" | Open items, pending invoices, pending vendor bills, top clients, smart reminders, getting-started checklist |
| Own window | the window is spelled out | Cashflow chart, revenue/expense trend, profit & loss overview, budget progress, cashflow forecast (30 days), anomaly detection, VAT liability |
Open items deliberately do not follow the period. An invoice overdue for five months is open today, whatever period you selected above. Filtering these tiles by period would make them misleading, so they are marked "As of today" instead.
Chart windows. The monthly charts deliberately draw more than the selected period, so a trend is visible at all. The window they draw is derived from the period and stated in the chart heading:
| Selected period | Chart window |
|---|---|
| This month | trailing 6 months |
| Last 3 months | trailing 12 months |
| This year | the 12 months of the current year |
| All time | every month with data, capped at 36 |
Widget Configuration
Under Settings > Dashboard you can toggle widgets on/off.
VAT Liability (dashboard widget)
The VAT liability widget shows what is expected to be paid to the Swiss Federal Tax Administration (FTA / ESTV) for the current VAT period:
Output VAT (on invoices) +4'320.00
./. Credit notes -180.00
./. Input VAT (expenses) -1'105.00
─────────────────────────────────────────
Payable to the FTA 3'035.00
Where the figures come from
- Effective reporting method: output VAT less input VAT. The net tax rate (Saldosteuersatz) method is not supported yet.
- Output VAT: every invoice in the period with status sent, paid or overdue. Drafts and cancelled invoices do not count.
- Credit notes: credit notes in the period are deducted.
- Input VAT: journal lines on expense accounts. Anything not booked does not show up here — a receipt alone is not enough.
- Rebilled expenses flow into output VAT automatically, because by then they are invoice lines.
Period and deadline
The widget covers the current VAT period — by default the running quarter (Q3/2026). It does not follow the dashboard period switcher: a VAT return is tied to the statutory period, not to your view.
Set the period under Settings → Billing → VAT reporting (quarterly, half-yearly or yearly).
The deadline shown is the end of the period plus 60 days (Art. 71 MWSTG) — for Q3/2026 that is 29 November 2026.
Special cases
- If input VAT exceeds output VAT, the widget shows a refund claim from the FTA instead of a negative debt.
- If you are marked not liable for VAT in settings, the widget does not appear at all.
A working figure, not a return
The number is derived from the invoices and bookings you have recorded today and is a working figure for cash planning. It does not replace the return you file with the FTA: what you actually submit is what counts. Record the submitted return afterwards under Accounting → VAT Returns (see Settings).
